At Moreton Group Medical Services, we combine practical training with supported study to help you respond confidently to injuries and medical emergencies. Our trainers bring operational healthcare experience to the classroom, connecting your learning to realistic situations in workplaces and the community.
This program is particularly suited to existing workers and volunteers who want to formalise their experience, strengthen their first response skills or meet requirements associated with their role. Depending on your background, you may be able to demonstrate competency through a combination of training, assessment and recognition of prior learning.

Supervised sessions include demonstrations, guided practice and realistic simulations. You will practise first response skills, receive feedback and develop your ability to communicate and work safely when assisting patients.
Our experienced trainers provide mentoring and support throughout each unit, helping you understand the course material and apply it to your workplace or volunteer role.
Assessment includes written and/or oral questions, case studies, presentations and practical demonstrations, depending on the unit. You will demonstrate your skills in a workplace or realistic simulated environment, with activities covering first aid, infection prevention, communication, safe manual tasks and workplace safety.
Your assessor will explain each task and the evidence required. To receive the qualification, you must demonstrate competency in all nine units.
