Completing this nationally accredited Certificate III course will allow you to confidently apply for entry-level jobs in the private sector, including roles such as Private Hospital Transport Officer, Patient Transport Officer (PTO), Ambulance Attendant, Ambulance Officer, and Community Ambulance Volunteer.

Graduates can join established non-emergency patient transport companies or hospitals, work in aged care facilities transporting elderly residents to medical appointments, assist individuals with disabilities in accessing healthcare services, or work with community health organisations focused on community health and well-being. Additionally, opportunities exist in private ambulance services specialising in non-emergency patient transport and in medical transport coordination roles as dispatchers or coordinators.

Requirements

An individual undertaking this qualification with Allens Training Pty Ltd will need to demonstrate the following to be eligible for entry:
  • Students must hold an open/ unrestricted Australian driver’s license
  • Satisfactorily complete a language, numeracy and literacy assessment prior to or on course commencement to assess capacity to meet the LLN requirements of this course
  • Physical capability to be able to meet the demands of the practical demonstration skills
  • Protective slip resistant footwear/safety shoes must be provided by the student and worn during the practical sessions and assessment 
  • Online study options:  The online learning program can be found in the student portal. Students must have access to a computer, smart phone, tablet or other electronic device with access to the internet to complete the online studies and practical assessment.

    Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks.
